Because i couldn't believe it at the time. I remember exactly where i was, what i was doing and how i thought it was some kind of joke at first. Then there was the second plane.

Tourists of NY: taking pictures and being noisy and ogling the site is disrespectful to those who died that day. That is place where you have to see what remains and remember in silence. You are making a joke of it.
